PostSubject: Jack High - Team Effort   Sat 15 Nov - 12:17

Tonight the Neshy and the Bunj along with new found partners in Owen and Sam took on the likes of Division 1 Red player and good guns to the fast rolling turf in our latest venture lawn bowls.

You bet ya members
Like the movie Jack High Neshy and my self found our selfs along with partners playing our first competitive game after less than 2 hours on the green.

With the short end of the straw i was chosen as skipper and head sledger from the opp end of the greeen in wich i gave all between a cig and swig on a soother to adjust the fluid intake.

We trailed 3/4 of the game with 2 ends to go until the Bunj rolled a bradmen out of short leg to slide and soothingly kiss the white with the heads up.

Neshy left arm over wicket was restricted to arm under hooked in deep and recovered well to play a solid 2nd leg of the game with good cover up for our team to try dictate from.

Once again the end green was fireing between choices and tape measurment with the 2 skippers at end with less than a breath between.

Last end i fell short by some inches what
2 to 4 to be abouts

With last ball in hand the opsosition delivers a fine ball but short and sharp to take the game into the tape measures hand.......

A DRAW is the call

For our first game ever we were more than happy with our first outing and feel that we can build towards better games and take some much wanted scalps by the whole team.

As a team i feel we all thought that we had a lot to improve on but also had the feeling the talent was there to be real competitive against the best in this begginers league.

We play each week for a total of 7 weeks with weekly prizes and give aways for the bowlers playing on the night.

I could go on for pages but will save you the pain...

and say '' this time next week , we play our 2nd game''

Neshy & Bunji 0 - Opposition 0

GAME 2 VS SMURFS

wE backed up last night for our 2nd game in this 7 week comp minus our start player the Neshy who was busy doing a exam.

We started well last night and quickly put our selfs on top as the team to beat with a big advantage in being the team we played was down also on 1 of there best players.

As skipper i didnt have to say much last night as our team all played great balls to open up a 4 point lead at the bottom of the 7 after some great bowls from the opp.
We pushed the pedal to the metal in the final last 6 ends in which i came up with sdome nice touches to put the game beyond doubt with a 9 point lead into the last end.

I fell short on that end was dissapointed as it was my most judged shot of the game and fell short by some 1 1/2 feet.

We learnt a lot from last nights game and feel that we will start to hit a team groove and may be pick up some bonus games by the way.
So far the team has played as 1 and i think that reflects in our over all score to date.

Until game 3
Neshy & Bunji 1 win 1 draw - Opposition 0
