This boy come to us from Brian Perkins who had no place for him to board as a young dog.
Since then some almost a year ago we had him here showing him the ropes before getting sent to Derek Coldstram for breaking in.

Since then i have being at the trialds gettinmg hands on with this boy who has kept showing promise and progression from a week to week basis.

At 16months old he had his 2nd go out of the boxes over the 302m for me on monday night in which he showed some true grit to run home in 17.75.

He boxed well for me and at the same time it showed when leaving the boxes compared to missing it on his previous encounter.

I have decide to keep him at Dereks foor another week before bring him home her to start his exciting raceing prep.
He with out a doubt a dog that could be on his way up.

After a freshen up and some work on his body after his hard breaking in period its now time for our mate Buddy to return to the track for preperation on his return to racing.

From here on in he will be reintruduced to the 302m before stepping up over the distances in the up coming weeks.

He seems to be fine but as stated about his tail Brian it still does concern me and we will endevour to do the best we can at hand.

I know you spoke to a vet and another trainer but i do feel its real hard for them to make a case on a dog that they have no sight or indication of his soreness.

Regardless we are doing the best for his tail.

Back this morning for his first run back from a let off in which he went from box 6 over the 302m with a race dog.

The wqinners time was a good 17.35 with buddy following him home only to be beaten 3 lentgths and run a new pb first up.

We will have another crack at the 302m before stepping on up to the 405m next Sat.

After yet another week off due to soreness i feel that Buddy is set for his return to the race track.
Its full steam ahead now with the boy and he will head back to mandurah on St in prep for some harder track work.

So far at home he has done well and i expect him to really hit his straps in around 5 weeks time when he should have had a few longer runs.

Either way its time to get this boy named Brian.

Buddy went to the track on Monday and went over the 405m for the first time in a 23.75 which was with out a doubt a goood run under the conditions.

From here on Buddy will return on Sat Morning for another 405m out off the boxes due to us being at Northan on the Monday.
I do expect this boy to go quicker each time he goes around for at least the first 3-4 goes.

Other wise he is coming along a dead set treat Brian.

Continues to improve each time we put this lad around

Went over the 405m again with iprovment in times also from the first peg to the run home time.

From here on in Buddy will go back to Mandurah next Sat for 1 more go before be entered for his first quali trial.

It just seems that now he needs the field experiance as his talents are starting to come to the boil.

Didnt habe a work out this week brian as he pulled up a tad sore in the front end again.
Work on him now and he will be back next week and is already showing signs of great recovery.

No he didntt B.
Still a tad sore so he got some extra time off.
Back into work this week and full steam ahead.

Put the papers in but no reply as yet.
Can take a couple of weeks normally.

Will have some pics off Bud for you this week along with a Avatar of him.

Other wise hes doing great and ready to rumble.

Where was he sore mate?? Shoulder??

A little bit sore in the shoulder but his wrist was also sore and a new injury.
One that must be kept on top off with work and rest.

Did buddy trial yesterday mate??

No he had his first run back today in which he went real, well.
It was a clear indication that the time off and the work done on him has paid results.
From here on in its getting him some fitness before setting him for aquali start.
He worked with some flare today brian.

That's good news then, how did he go time wise compared to other trials, without too many details....haha Did he go over the 302m?? Where too from here mate?? Field trail in the not too distant future??

Spoke to greyhounds WA last week regarding naming etc should be sorted out and you should get his papers back soon i would think..

No the run was at home brian iin order to get a bit more fitness under belt.
He will however go over the 302m on Sat with a run over the 405m 0n the Monday arvo weather permitting.

Other wise he will do 2 more 405m and straight into a quali trial for you.
His body is in great and we will keep a close eye on his wrist.

That's good that he is feeling good with in himself...Let's hope we don't have anymore setbacks and we can get him to the track...

The big boy went around on sat with a verey encoraging run from him.
with lack of fitness he blew the start before mustering and powering under another dog past the 302m boxes.
he strightened up and kicked 4 in front only to be run back to a 2l gap on the line.
the track was slow and first run back was undeer quali time so i say its not long at all brian.
Would say that not next week but the week after he will be ready for a quali trial.
pulled up great.

Was a good effort on Mon in his hit out before heading to the qualies.
He came out mod and mustered to round the first turn with nice fashion.

His work between the 302 boxes and the home turn was good before htting the line well to finish on the arm.

The boy feels great with in him self and his wrist seems fine as well today so he will now be nommed for next Tuesday nights quali trial over 405m @ Mandurah

Hey Paul,

He has box 2 in trial 1, against 4 other first starters and a 2nd starter...

Does he get kennelled before the trial??

VERY exciting stuff..Hope he smashed them!!! haha

If he gets any luck then he should be right on target to hit the quali time.
