Any chance of Zoe picking up a run on Thursday night? (reserve in 2 races)

I thought the aim was a 405m run on Friday if she could get a start.

Hope she starts to improve again soon, it's hard when a bitch wins 3 of her first six starts and then only has another 3 wins from her next 40 odd starts. At the moment, until she drops back in grade I can't see where her next win could possibly come from.

Even if she does get a start on Thurs night she looks to be out of her depth.

Reserve on a Thursday and then not even put as a reserve for Tuesday...I'm really disappointed. Hard to stay race fit when you don't get a start and it's also hard to take when worse dogs with worse records get starts in front of her. Seeing the fields today was just one massive let down.

Paul, am interested in hearing your advice in regards to the direction we go with this girl.

Her run last night was awful, probably one of the worst of her career. She had every chance to get into a clear position of fourth and go full steam ahead from there, but did not show the same commitment to chasing the bunny that she once did. On that run, she'd be unlikely to get anywhere near the winner in any future runs.

Since she was last on season, she has failed to win a race and only once did she run well, when she finished second to Tower of Hope. Some of her placings were fortunate because the times were not flash.

Is she approaching the end of her career or do you think there's still something left in this girl? The syndicate would consider selling her but to be honest, on recent form I think you'd be lucky to get $1,000 for her. Also, I had hoped to breed with her but that idea I'm giving up on...she just hasn't lived up to the potential she had.

To be fair to her, she's gutsy, she's always been a trier and she's been injury free. Her returns for her cost haven't been bad. But in the past couple of months it hasn't been fun owning her. To add insult to injury, she hasn't drawn a suitable box for a long time.

I just don't know how much difference that would make anyway. Hopefully we'll get a chance to see soon.

Just praying she turns things around. C'mon Zoe!

I think Zoe's career is coming to an end...would love to see her run one more time though (hopefully from a decent box).

She seems to have lost her will to race...her last two efforts have been way below her capabilities when she is right.

As a first time owner nothing can really prepare you for when it's time for your dog to hang up the boots, so to speak. Having followed the dogs quite closely since purchasing Zoe I've seen some other trainers keep sending their dogs around at 20 and 30/1 with the dogs not placing most weeks and just going around for the sake of it. There isn't much point in that.

It could have been interesting to see what she could have done at Northam with the same lure as in Tassie but in all honesty the way she is going at the moment it would be a waste of petrol sending her there.

If we can give her one more run over the 405 at Mandurah (providing we can get her into a race) we'll see how she goes, if she finishes fifth or worse I think that will be it for her.

Definitely. Hopefully once the 20 weeks are up with the Punters Club we can purchase another dog.

Racing has been part of the fun but it's also great to meet good people and Paul, Shannon and the Box1 owners all fit into that category.
