Punters Club No1

I will add more to this subject later however we will be running a Punters Club in the future.



$500 entry for 20 weeks ($25 per week)

2.5% of total will be able to be bet each weekend (20 x 2.5% = 50% total)

During the 20 weeks Paul and myself will be looking for a greyhound to race for the group - purchase price roughly 50% of total funds.

At the complettion of the 20 weeks any remaining funds will go back to the members.

The Greyhound will continue to race for all members until retirement.

A very cheap way of having a share in a dog plus a bit of a bet.


Further comments/suggestions are welcome or add your name if you would like to be involved.

Are we able to pay $25 per week, for example, as a weekly direct debit, over 20 weeks?

If that's the case and it's not $500 upfront, I'm in. Sounds like a great idea.

who will be placing the bets?

with my calculations we will need about 30 people for this to work, that would give us $15,000... $7,500 for a new dog and then $7,500 for betting...

this giving paul the chance to get us a decent dog to work with...

Yes we are aiming to have a min of 20 members, 30 would be ideal. 50/50 split on bets and dog purchase.

Bets will be placed via a roster of random draw which I will do once we have the final numbers - each person will get atleast one bet.

In a few weeks I will be really cranking up getting interest for this.

I'll be in and reckon 'Timmys' owners will have a share too!

I'm going to set it up to pay from my online account each week, when this starts who will be transferring the money to each week?

Rules as follows

1. Punters Club runs for 20 weeks start 10/03/2011

2. Entry is $500 ($25 per week) payable now or as a weekly or fortnightly debit into the following account

3. Each week 2 punters (done by random draw) will be selected to make $200 worth of bets on any of Thurs, Fri or Sat greyhounds meetings in WA. They must be posted into this thread before 5pm on the day of the meeting. Winning punters wil continue for following weeks.

4. During or at the completition of the Punters Club (part or all) of the funds will be used to purchase a greyhound to race on behalf of the punters club members. Any remaining funds will be distributed to members.

5. The Punters Club will be managed by Aaron Delaporte (aaron@perthturftalk.com mobile - 0407 425 117) on behalf of Box 1 Racing. Should any queries arise they will be dealt with in the best interests of the group as a whole.

My brother and I will have a share each. So reserve 2 and we'll sort out funds.
