First off we would like to welcome our new owner Dick who has purchased this lovely fellow from the Jason Thompson kennels.
He comes from a verey good litter with more than its fair share of strong dogs and bitches who have gone as far as to make the Melbourne Cup of this year,
With only 2 starts under his belt i look foward to getting this boy on the track and hope that in the near future he turns out to be the dog that i much soreted after.
With out a doubt with any luck this boy will be the best that i have ever put a lead and collar around. Seems to be the happening thing with the litter.
Welcome on board TRAVIS and what a honour it is to haVE u at BOX1RACING.

This boy has really settled in well and shows signs of him really liking the routine. Hes into the heavy work now with him getting ready towards his first ace start in WA. We will be doing the harder work on the cooler days and feel that it should only be a matter of weeks before he steps out for his debut. His weight has held well which in turn once againn tells me just how he is feling since being at Box1.
Shouldnt be to far of getting your first runner Dick and we here are so excited of just what he is going to do for us all.

Took him to mandurah for a hit out over the 405m as part of his fitness training in lead up towards his cannington debut. He began ok but not strongly from the boxes staying about a length of the rail in the run to the first turn in which he went as slow as my pups in 6.84 first peg.
From that stage on the boy hugged the rail out of the turn to put his head down and chase the lure with great vigor. He exploded into the straight to wind up and hit the line in a remarkable 23.13 after fading the last 20m due to fitness.
His run was 3-5 lengths better than what i thought due to his time off and fitness level.
he will go another 400m run before stepping up to the 490m for 2 runs. From them he heads back to cannington for a post to post then his first run from the 530m boxes . He should be ready to fire the following week or the next . Hes to go Dick

Trialled yesterday in pretty impresive fashion. Gave the leader a start into the first turn before coming off its heels with no room to move towards the first turn.
From then on he balanced up and whipped around the out side before the straight and just simply exploded away to win by 6
Will head to Cannington on Thursday for a post -post.

*Has balanced up well for his 1st start for us in W.A and i do feel that with any luck early he will be there abouts. Its just a matter of seeing if he can over come his lack of pace and settle in a prominent possi heading out of the straight.
Regardless he still has a lot to learn and feel that with a couple of runs under his belt that he will start to produce his best along with quicker times.
Good luck Dick

Has buttered up well since his lasr start Win and gives the indication that hes training on well from week to week for my self.
His track work yesterday was nothing less than shit, but thats this guys go untill you set him a bench mark.
He will pay for the bumless track work yesterday and once again go and swim the english channel with my self as he does most weeks.
And if i dont cough up last nites packet of winfield blue then i may just turn him around again and say dig bloody deeper big fella cause we doing it all again.
We take on some smarter dogs this week from the deadly 8 and im realistic in thinking this is the undoing for my boy. Hes still learning to stride out let alone ping from the 8 with a dog that has about as much speed as a gopher with double d batteries.
We will get a lot of ticks regardless incuding,
We will be back out there tonight putting our ploishes on after the heat of the day has gone and i can bet you 1 sure thing, no one will sleep better than the big fella(loves a nap after a swim)
2 we will be up fresh as rabbit with 2 days to go to the race with a relaxing day in front of the fans .
3 pre day we will be out and about putting some non stress -impact walking in along the soft sand of mandurah with a wade before heading home to a pre race night scrummy feed.
4 nails to be clipped with hair and manacure with mid arvo hydro bath, and pre race cocktail.
In other words i bet my boy is dancing on the way to the boxes and 110% ready for his race with not 1 stone left unturned.
Whatever happens after that is up to the Gods and Aston, but u can be assured we are trying our best

What a shit of a race Dick. The boy was doing well trying to possi up around the first turn before the dog fell in front of him that caused him to go wide and just try and miss the trouble.
He pulled up ok and was just a tad tender near the chest. He will head to for a run on sAT BEFORE DECIDEING ON WHAT TO HEAD FOR NEXT.
He may start in the heats of the Dawsville Cup next week. If not he will return to Cannington shortly after a Mandurah stint

Was a ok effort aftre not be able to keep up early but run home late. He just needs futher this boy and has stayer all over him.
Its just a matter of trying to balance him up for a few more starts then step him up to go over the 600+.
we are also trying to add some extra weight to this boy for his next start which will be next wed @ Cannington.

After a couple of hardy no luck runs we have had Travis back done. i feel it was needed to to be done and think that it turn he should stride out better and perform better once again.
he will head to cannington next wed for his return to raCIN G.
